Planning your Bonaire vacation
Iridescent colors
found in a 24-count crayon box have come to life on Bonaire island
- a 24-mile-long stretch of clear blue water, evergreen valleys, black
and yellow coral, and hotels in every color of the rainbow. Plan to
spend most of your time riding this wonderful rainbow of an island
by windsurfing its pristine beaches, diving its unspoiled reefs, or
relaxing at its luxury hotels. As you voyage through this tropical
island, sail on over to splendid Pink Beach, named after the color
of its sand, and shuffle your way to the silky, white salt pans stacked
on Bonaire's south side. A vacation at Bonaire hotels and resorts
is packed with fun and adventure for marine enthusiasts. Enjoy your
stay on sunny Bonaire, where the yearly average temperature is 82
degrees.
Travel Tips
The
beaches at Bonaire are its main attraction, so beach safety is of
utmost importance for vacation planners. Be sure to wear sunscreen
with a high SPF, as the sun can be quite intense, even on cloudy
days. Reapply after swimming, activity, or after several hours on
the beach. While you want to return home with a great tan, a bad
sunburn can put a damper on your vacation. Build your tan slowly
during your stay. Many areas along the beaches are patrolled by
lifeguards, and families with young children would be advised to
frequent these.
Bonaire is
a very safe place to visit, but visitors should use common sense.
Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle, or on the beach unattended.
Numerous banks are located throughout the islands which offer currency
exchange, and ATM’s are plentiful.
