Bonaire Diving Information
Bonaire
is truly a diver's paradise. The island's marine community is visible from
above its crystal-clear waters, but diving Bonaire's unspoiled reef system
allows vacationers to interact with hundreds of exotic sea creatures. Divers
can choose from more than 60 dive spots along the island's coast, via the
Bonaire Marine Park or Washington-Slagbaii National Park, or from 26 of
the healthiest reefs at Klein Bonaire - an uninhabited island located 450
yards off Bonaire's leeward coast. Vacationers are sure to get a workout
by diving Bonaire's popular 1000 Steps, a favorite spot for shore or boat
diving. The 1000 Steps requires its guests to trudge a snake-like pathway
of approximately 64 steps, which actually seem like a 1000 steps, on the
way back from your underwater excursion, before getting to its waterways.
Goatfish, seahorses, nurse sharks, and the barracuda are some of the aquatic
wonders that you might see while plunging a depth of 20 to 100 feet undersea
in Bonaire, where the water temperatures range from 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
